COVID-19 & MAC-MAQ

Conference Activities Through COVID-19

This year's MAC-MAQ Conference in September was originally scheduled to be on the UC Davis campus for September 15-17, 2021. However, due to COVID-19, the uncertainty of the safety of bringing people together, the national and international unsteady vaccination rate, and the still yet-determined campus rules of bringing people together for a conference, we have made the executive decision to host this conference fully virtually instead of hybrid. We also recognize that the many shelter in place orders, closing of offices and closing of childcare facilities can make participating in a virtual event difficult, so we hope that this set up will allow you the most flexibility in participation.

The conference will now be held September 14-17, 2021 online. Our Technical Planning Committee has created a schedule that spans over 4 days with recorded and live sessions that will allow for attendees to join virtually while still attending to other work and family obligations. By keeping sessions to each day to ~6 hours with lots of breaks we hope attendees will have a better chance at staying captivated and providing engaging questions for our presenters.

Additionally, all presentations will be pre-recorded to allow you the flexibility to watching ones you may not be able to attend fully as a live participant. You will have the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers prior to the live event and a select few will be asked of the speakers during the live Questions & Answer Sessions.

Please take a look and save the days we have listed in our schedule. We will be sure to keep you informed of all our plans as they continue develop, but you are welcome to also check our website below for regular updates!

Thank you for your flexibility & understanding!
